Domestic violence towards the Latino community is a pressing issue that is commonly looked over. The National Domestic Violence Hotline, a non-profit organization, works to help latin woman by supporting their needs. To bring awareness to this problem, we decided to represent woman in the form of flowers. Inspired by the popular phrase “las mujeres no se le pegan ni con un petalo de una rosa” “women should not be hit with even the petal of a rose” we created a campaign to bring this metaphor to life. Just like we choose to tend to flowers rather than stomp on them, we should likewise treat woman the same.

Street crosswalk Installation

During October, which is the National Domestic Violence Awareness month, public spaces will be transformed with flower installations to raise awareness and symbolize resilience.

National Domestic Violence Hotline X WhatsApp

In collaboration with whatsapp, The National Domestic Violence Hotline will provide a way for Victims to get help while ensuring safety and anonymity. texting a wilted rose emoji to the hotline number: (800) 799-7233, will act as a code to signal for help. this will automatically share their live location and send assistance immediately.

Instagram posts will work to communicate the severity of domestic violence, educate victims on how to use the wilted rose emoji, and teach victims safe ways to access resources.
